Let my life sing

Let my Life Sing

Make me too brave to lie or be unkind

Make me too understanding, too, to mind

The little hurts companions give, and friends

The careless hurts that no one quite intends

May I forget what ought to be forgotten

And recall, unfailing, all that out to be recalled

Each kindly thing

Forgetting what might sting

To all upon my way

Day after day

Let me be joy be hope! Let me life sing!

The Spirit Within

The Spirit Within

This is an extract of a poem which was communicated to Mavis from one of her Spirit Guides, Jane, who had been a Novice Nun when on the earth.

I am the Spirit Within You,
I am the source and essence of creation,
I am the peace that passeth all understanding,
For I am the constant factor of life and eternity.

I am the Spirit Within You,
Your life is mine and I embrace that life which is yours,
For in truth is but one life, one experience.

I am the Spirit Within You
From me you gain strength, you gain understanding,
You gain the perception of life itself.

I am the Spirit Within You,
I see clearly through your eyes and I hear through your ears,
My voice is a murmur that speaks out against injustice that you create for yourself,
It is my voice that you hear when drifting into sleep state, for I am the Spirit within You.

I am your consciousness, but even more than all these things,
I am life,
I am your life force and in truth you are directed by me
In all things appertaining to progress In your human existence

Thank you God

Thank you God

For the little things

That often come our way

The things we take for granted

But don't mention when we pray

The unexpected courtesy

The thoughtful, kindly deed

A hand reached out to help us

In the time of sudden need

Oh make us more aware, Dear God

Of little daily graces

That come to us with sweet surprise

From never-dreamed-of places

meditation spiritualist way: recommended

Meditation tips and exercise

There are many books, tapes and CDs that will help you to meditate. Here is a meditation I learned at a Spiritualist church:

To visualise is the key, to let your mind go blank learning to be in state of Quiet still the mind without every day things on your mind. It is advisable to set a day or part of the day when you will be alone with no interruptions.

Prepare yourself and find a comfortable spot which is neither too cold nor hot. Wear clothes that are not too tight. If you can, use a chair with a back to lean against. If you have some soothing music it does help. First we need to clear the mind, which is quite hard at the beginning. It’s a good idea to join a group to enable you to learn the correct way to meditate. If you are on your own start with a simple prayer, also put a timer on say for about 20 minutes before you start your meditation. Have a drink of water nearby. When you are sitting comfortably say a prayer for protection etc., then ask Spirit to join you on your journey. Also ask for a blessing and protection to your God our creative energy

The whole meditation including ten minute preparing, prayers etc.15 minute ( after prayer of thanking spirit and God). About 30 meditation. total meditation, Start to end.

At first you may not get anything at all or even for a while, but rest assured Spirit will be there with you every step of the way. Starting from top to bottom of your body, tighten then loosen your muscles. Also control your breathing, say on a count of three. Breathe in, breathe out and do the counting until you feel relaxed. Then use these words to visualise, to take a walk to meet your helper or loved one.

Spirit Walk meditation

It is a bright sunny day and you can picture this in your mind, with your third eye. You are aware that every step you take you are walking with both God’s and Spirit’s knowledge. Imagine that you are walking and can hear the ripples of the water from the stream at your right side. In the distance you can see a white gate that Spirit has opened for you in this short time. Enter the gate, closing it behind you. You are now walking across a field of flowers and can smell their scent.

You can see the hill where a big oak tree stands. Go and sit by this tree. Asking Spirit to join you, feel the bark of the tree and warmth of the sun.

Your journey will finish when the timer goes off. Please use the next ten minutes to retrace your steps down the path until you get to the gate which you closed after you had walked through it the first time. (Spirit will lock this gate until you want to walk down it again.) Always finish with a prayer of thanks.

Remember how you felt, did it relax you?

Experiment with different kinds of mediation to find one or two that suit you.

At any time you feel unsure, retrace your steps to the white gate giving thanks to the Spirit world, those seen and unseen and don’t forget to give a thank you to God too.

Please do not get up too quickly as if you do meditate correctly you will be in an altered state and you may feel a little disorientated for a while. Take a drink of water and carry out an everyday chore in order to ground yourself.

With modern technology, we can use the computer and there are so many brilliant sites to join that offer development. However, it is still advisable to seek out a centre or a church that will also provide this development. If you wish to start your own circle, there are experienced bodies that can help you with this such as development. www.ism.org.uk

letter from heaven: submitted by Valann xxx

Letter from Heaven
To my dearest family some things I'd like to say
But first of all to let you know that I arrived today,
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I shall dwell with God above
Here, there's no more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and He said "I welcome you,
It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you are part of my plan
There's so much that we have to do to help our mortal man."
God gave me a fist of things that he wished for me to do
And foremost on the list was to watch and care for you
And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight
God and I are closest to you . . in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
1 wish that I could tell you all that God has planned
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand
But one thing is for certain though my life on earth is o'er
I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind
I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind
And when it's time for you to go . . from that body to be free
Remember you're not going . . you're just coming here to me.
